Personal Branding
The main purpose of personal branding was to have an identity. I mean a way to show or describe one's self. So the branding task was where we had to design our own logo, as well as decide on the layout and colour scheme. In the lesson we had to describe ourselves by writing down in three pieces of paper three words that would describe me. So for the personal branding I created the logo using my name initials because it will be easy to identify me and recognizable as the logo is based on my name it will help people to remember it. The reason for my portfolio having the black and white colour scheme was also due to this reason so as to describe myself and as well of what three words that I had written to describe myself.
The image on the left is the picture that I had taken to show the three words that described me. So basically my portfolio is based on the three words shown on the left in the image.
Detailed= I'm a personal who like detailed work so that why I put in detail, because when I look at something whether its a person's clothing or website. I look for things that goes well and what did not go well. I want thing to match with each other.
Creative= This is another feature that explains about me. I'm creative, even though not all my work is sophisticated they do contain some form of creativeness.
Simple= I prefer to make things simple because it will helps others to understand rather than having people take a long time to figure out on how my web portfolio works or other things like websites. Complex build will only make things difficult for others, so simplicity is the best policy.
The image on the right is the logo for my portfolio which I had made it using the PhotoShop software. As you you can only see the logo is very simple, it only contains the alphabets "PR". The alphabets are basically my initial that i have used so as to make it simple and easily recognizable. Plus the good point will be that people will remember it.
To make the logo was quite the challenge. I had seen many text effects online in internet. So I saw one that inspired me to make my logo something similar to that. Thus I created my logo in Photoshop.
My logo created by using only two layers. That would be the background image layer for the image and the text layer for the text. Most of the effects was done in the text layer and for the background image I just used the stroke effect only.
The process on how I developed my logo is below shown through some screenshots of diagrams.
Logo:
The image on the above is the background image applied in PhotoShop.
The image on the above is after the layer effects has been done.
The image on the above is when the font (PR initial) is typed in the background image applied in PhotoShop.
The image on the above is after the logo has been made completely.
The image on the above is layer effect properties for the fonts (PR).
The image on the above is gradient editor for the font.
The image on the left is the property for the circle that is the stroke effect done in the layer style.
